The Unionville Community has a long history of participating in the social change movement and urban evolution. The established neighborhood is consistently finding its path through the turbulence of urbanization and economy growth. Carrying the culture heritage as one of the earliest settlements in GTA area, the community is facing an unprecedented challenge with urgency to Know, to Say, to Vote.
Reborn of Unionville
Starting out, our decision of going for election was made after getting involved in a series of local campaign to save our community known as Unionville. We realized that the only way for us to evolve as a striving community was to hit the road and to break the ice. In the last month, we visited hundreds of residents— from Warden to McCowan — from Hwy407 to 16th. Our time on the road proved crucial in knowing our community. A vital Unionville can only be reborn of the spirit of local residents with care and awareness.
Looking to the Future
We’re packing up the gear for an extended campaign tour in support of our new platform, which is revitalizing Unionville with Sustainability, Safety, Service. Our campaign agenda will prominently feature the emerged Markham Secondary Plan review, but also dive into profoundly concerned traffic, safety, environment issues. To allow the community to grow its vigor with all the inheritance, we are promoting a Community Service Center to facilitate the mechanism of mutual support and prosperity in the neighborhood.
